Someone in the group named the order number. Should you redact the screenshot?
You sent a support shot, a group-chat ID, or a screen that still showed the shipping address. Later someone named the order number. This page is the decision: should you paint over it, mosaic or a heavier cover, and how do you know the digits are actually gone.
They named the order number after you hit send
Support asked for a screenshot. A group chat wanted “just the ID.” The phone still showed a shipping address. You sent the frame. Later someone in the group named the order number. Not because they guessed. The digits were still in the pixels. This page is the decision before the next send: paint it, or send it raw.
Three screens that look like “just send it”
Same habit, three different risks. Use the cards as a decision, not a feature list:
Support wants the order shot
They need the status or the item. They do not need the full order ID, the phone, or the last four of a card. Mosaic those strings. Leave the line that proves the problem. If the file is still huge after you paint, hit a size cap later — the target KB guide.
The group wants an ID
A chat that asks for a passport or driver’s license is asking for more than a face. Paint the number, the machine-readable line, and any barcode. A tight ID frame is a different job — the ID crop guide — crop first if the extra margin is the leak, then paint what remains.
The address is still on screen
A checkout page, a courier app, a Maps pin in the status bar. Cover the street, the unit, and the phone. A white backdrop on a product shot does not hide an address — that is a different page, the cut-out and fill-white guide.
Image711 paints mosaic or blur in your browser. The screenshot stays on the device. This tool takes one file per session — that is intentional. Keep that file ≤ 20MB.
Paint one frame, then zoom until you cannot read it
People ask “mosaic or a black bar?” This tool paints mosaic or blur, not a separate black rectangle. For digits, mosaic at a high intensity is the heavier cover — the number should die, not just look fuzzy. Blur keeps a soft outline and often stays readable when you pinch in.
Open Image711's Mosaic / Local blur. Decoding and every stroke stay in the browser. Nothing is uploaded.
- Drop one screenshot: JPG / PNG / WebP / GIF, ≤ 20MB. One image at a time. If the capture is still HEIC and the page will not open it, convert first — the HEIC to JPG guide — then come back.
- Pick mosaic for numbers: order IDs, phones, ID lines, cards. Use blur only when you want a face or a plate to look softer, not unread. Raise intensity until the string is gone.
- Paint the whole string, then zoom: cover the last four as well. Pinch the preview to 200%. If you can still guess a digit, paint again. Do not send the half-covered file.
- Download this copy: the local original is not overwritten. Need another screenshot? Start a new session. There is no “apply to all.”
The pixels are hidden. The file may still talk
Painting does not strip the sidecar. A phone screenshot can still carry GPS and a camera model — clear that on the EXIF strip guide after you paint, or on a copy you are willing to send without metadata. Mosaic changes pixels. EXIF is a different pass.
The short version
They named the order number because the digits were still in the frame. Decide before the next send. Mosaic for numbers, paint fully, zoom until you cannot read it. One file at a time, each ≤ 20MB. EXIF is a separate clear. Stay local — nothing is uploaded.
About redacting a screenshot
Can I drop a folder and redact every screenshot at once?
No. Mosaic / Local blur takes one image per session. Order numbers sit in a different place on every capture, so a shared stroke would miss some and overpaint others. Open, paint, download, then start the next file. Keep each original at or under 20MB.
Mosaic or a black bar — which hides a phone or order number?
This tool paints mosaic or blur, not a separate black rectangle. For digits, pick mosaic and raise the intensity until the number is gone. Blur keeps a soft outline and often stays readable when you zoom. If you can still guess a digit, paint again.
I painted it. Can someone still read it if they zoom?
Zoom the preview yourself before you send. If you can recover a digit at 200%, they can too. Cover the whole string — including the last four — then download that copy. Do not send the half-painted file.
Does painting also strip EXIF? Is the file uploaded?
No and no. Mosaic changes pixels. GPS and camera model stay in the sidecar until you strip them separately. Reading and painting happen in your browser. The screenshot never goes to an upload backend.
