Format Conversion

Upload rejected the PNG? The hole went black — convert to JPG, or keep it?

The portal said JPG only and dumped the file. Or it took the file and painted the transparent hole black. Those look like the same crash. They are not. This page decides: convert, fill white first, or leave the PNG alone — and which of those you can batch.

The upload bounced. Or the hole went black

A signup form said JPG only and refused the .png. A shop listing took the file and the transparent hole turned black. Both feel like “the file is broken.” One is an extension rule. The other is JPG has no alpha. Keeping the PNG will not pass the first. Converting without a white fill will not save the second.

Three refusals that look like “just convert it”

Read what actually failed. Use the cards as a decision, not a feature list:

Signup / form: JPG only

Copy like “JPEG only”, “.jpg required”, or a silent dump of .png is a format job. Convert. They are not asking you to keep a hole. If you still need transparency for a sticker or a design layer, skip this page — JPG will paint a solid plate and you cannot get the hole back.

Shop listing: cutout went black

JPG has no alpha channel. The checkerboard is not a color — it is empty. Empty often flattens to black on a marketplace. Fill white under the cutout before you drop alpha. Guessing black is why the listing looks like a dirty slab. A dark plate only if the shop actually asked for one. Still glued to a bedroom wall? Cut out first — the fill-white guide.

A folder of PNGs

A whole export folder, not one logo. Same target for every file. Drop the stack into Convert Format, pick JPG, take a zip. This is the batch step — not crop, not redact. Keep each original ≤ 20MB.

Format conversion can batch the same target. Each original ≤ 20MB. Transparent? Fill white first, then convert. Still iPhone .heic? Different page — the HEIC to JPG guide. Decoding stays in the browser — nothing is uploaded.

Fill white, then export JPG

Open Image711's Convert Format. Decoding and export stay in your browser. Drop a stack when every file shares one target; keep each file ≤ 20MB.

  1. Drop one PNG or a stack: multi-select is fine. If the file is still iPhone .heic and the page will not open it, that is not this article — convert first with the HEIC to JPG guide, then come back.
  2. Set the target to JPG: default quality is usually enough. Drag it down only if a later size cap is already on the page. Confirm the fill: the hole should sit on white, not black.
  3. Preview the edges: bedroom wall still glued to the hair, or a pink fringe? Cut out and fill white first — the cut-out and fill-white guide — then convert that PNG so the form gets a white JPG.
  4. Export the set: singles or a zip. Format is right but they also wrote 200KB? That is the target KB guide. Need a square avatar or a long-edge cap? The avatar resize guide. One PDF instead of a pile of JPGs: the images to PDF guide.

JPG still fails the upload

The extension is legal and the form still says too large: they meant KB, not format. Hit the number with Compress. If they also want a square, crop or resize first — converting will not invent a 1:1 frame. Stay local so a logo or a form photo never leaves the device.

Image711 decodes in the browser. Logos, cutouts, and form photos stay on this device. Nothing is sent to an upload backend.

The short version

Form wants JPG: convert. Hole went black: fill white, then convert. A folder of PNGs: that step batches. Each file ≤ 20MB. HEIC is another article. Nothing is uploaded.

About converting PNG to JPG

Will a transparent PNG turn black when I convert it to JPG?

It can. JPG has no transparency, so empty pixels have to become a color — and many backends pick black if you do not fill first. Signup and shop uploads almost always want white. Image711 paints white under the hole, then exports. Use a dark fill only when the listing is supposed to sit on black.

Can I convert a whole folder of PNGs at once?

Yes — if every file is going to the same JPG target. Image711 Convert Format accepts multiple files and applies one format to the set; download singles or a zip. Crop and redact stay one photo. Keep each original ≤ 20MB.

The file is still HEIC from an iPhone. Same step?

No. HEIC is a different decode. Convert it with the HEIC to JPG guide first, then come back if you still have a PNG with a hole. This page is for PNG — especially a transparent one — that a form will not take.

Are the original files uploaded to a server?

No. Image711 converts in your browser. Logos, cutouts, and form photos stay on the device; nothing is sent to an upload backend for processing.
